When I was was feeling in the mood for a very feminine pink nailpolish recently, and ended up digging out Australis Baby Doll, I was actually more in the mood for a softer pink.
Not that I don't think Baby Doll is the perfect Barbie pink.
I was just looking for more of the 'baby'.
I saw Bourjois Anti Chip #14 in Priceline and fell in love with the colour, especially because it's in my absolute favourite formula – creme with a subtle complementary shimmer.

In my last nailpolish post I mentioned my disappointment with American Apparel’s Mount Royal, and promised pics.
It wasn’t the colour that disappointed.
As you can see, it really is a gorgeous creamy royal blue.

A reader recently asked me to share how I store my nailpolish, and I decided it's time I actually used the storage method I bought a while back and have been meaning to implement.
This is how I've been storing them up til now.
Random polishes dumped all together in a craft box, with a removable tray to hold top/base coats and random manicure paraphenalia.

A while back, I think around the time I started this blog, I was on a mission to find the perfect Barbie doll pink.
I bought a few and then kind of lost interest.
This week, though, I felt the urge to paint my nails a very feminine, super girly colour.
I dug out Australis Baby Doll.

Even though I'm still as mad about purple nailpolish as ever, I think I really just wanted this polish for the name.

I was once very much a shrinking violet.
I was the shyest of shy children, a very awkward teenager and didn't really grow out of a very painful social anxiety until my mid-20s.
If you'd told me at any stage through my 20s that I would end up making a living out of being able to make small talk with strangers, I would have keeled over, unable to breathe from laughing.
But here I am. Life's funny like that.

I think there are a number of nailpolish classics that will probably stand the test of time, and always be among those best-selling shades, regardless of the swings and roundabouts of fashion.
Chanel's Vamp and Particuliere spring to mind.
So does OPI You Don't Know Jacques and China Glaze Ruby Pumps.
And for a true, classic red – Revlon's Love That Red.

I picked up this bottle at HairHouse Warehouse the other day, and it looked like a pretty peachy pastel in the bottle.
And I thought it might be nice to brighten up my winter wardrobe a bit with a splash of summery colour.
Oh my goodness, it came out practically neon.

When I was working freelance, I had a lot of time to myself. Too much time actually, which is one of the reasons I wanted to go back into an office. I was getting really lonely.
It's been great having colleagues to talk to again, but after a while I realised I hadn't actually been completely alone for over a month. Unless driving to and from work counts. Well, it doesn't to me.
I've always been someone who enjoys my own company, so the lack of "me time" was starting to drive me stir crazy.
So this weekend has been nothing short of blissful.
Mr K went down to his parents place before I woke up on Saturday, to help them install a new AV system in their house. Leaving me with the whole day – and the whole house – to myself.

My car had a flat battery, so after the RACV came and jump started it, I was told to take it for a long drive. I ended up finding a factory outlet in Moorabbin selling accessories for cheap.
I couldn't resist these animal prints for $10 and $7 each.

I've decided that I like the transitional seasons – Spring and Autumn – the most at the moment.

Today was one of those perfect crisp yet warm trans-seasonal days, and my love for Autumn must have been expressing itself unconsciously. Because after three separate purchases I realised they shared one thing in common – they were all orange.

I know Sportsgirl nailpolishes are only $7.95, but their (usually) predictable and regular discounting schedule had programmed me – like Pavlov's dog – to wait for their nailpolishes to go on sale before purchasing.
If you're prepared to wait a few weeks, they're often reduced by 40%.
And a couple of weeks after that, by another 20%.
With one exception. Hello Sailor.
