Oh, interesting that none of you liked the book. I haven’t heard any negative things about it, so I was mildly amused when I read it and really took nothing away from it. I really don’t get why it’s a bestseller!

That is so cool that you lived in the US. How long did you live there for?

I must be in the minority but I love brocolli (stems included) especially in stirfrys.

So many things to comment on today!

If you’re ever looking for a nice brunch place in South Melbourne, I really like a place called Dead Man Espresso. They make a yummy scrummy brekky

I cooked up a stir fry tonight, and for the first time used broccolini instead of regular broccoli. Regardless of which one I use, I always eat the stalk and love it much more than the florets. I prefer it raw (often munching down on it while chopping up the other vegetables) but cooked is good too.

And finally, I had no idea you lived in the US! (but then why would I?). I adore the US and would love to go and live there for a while. Did you work, study, or holiday? It sounds like you had a wonderful adventure.

Finally: someone else who also eats the broccoli stems. Although, I will admit that I eat them because I like to pad my meals out, not because they were the most healthy part of the vegie (just learnt that from you).

Loved the stir-fry and the book reading (obviously), agree with the whole vegetable thing, we always throw away the best parts!

Mikaela – I’ve heard you can get China Glaze in Price Attack now, and also at some chemists. I either buy off ebay, or if there’s a few you want you can buy online at Transdesign or 8ty8.

Mikaela – Thank you! I totally agree about good pens. I have a purple gel one in my handbag that needs to go, though. I pulled it out in a job interview recently and almost died – it didn’t exactly shout “Professional”!

Mikaela – I keep a little container of nailpolish remover wipes in my handbag so I can take off my nailpolish then and there when its chipped. They’re so handy for that
