Daily Gratitude – Dear Memory
Don't you just love it when that happens?
Very, very occasionally, I'll reach into a pocket of a coat or a handbag I don't wear very often and find a note stashed there.
Like, maybe twice in my life kind of occasionally. Because I'm very much a money-goes-in-my-wallet kind of person.
I find scrunching or folding notes an anathema.
It also seems like a very 'boy' thing to do. Mr K always seems to pull bills and coins out of his pocket, and mostly uses his wallet for cards. You don't really hear money jingling in womens' pockets, do you?
So, the $85 I had stashed away in a jewellery box was left over from the gift I partly used to buy my ponyskin bird brooch.
I knew that if I put it in my wallet I'd just spend it on 'stuff'… more nailpolish, probably.
So wise of me!
I used it to buy a weatherproof cover for my bike, which has been living in my mother's garage, unused, because the only place I can keep it at Chez Kiki is on the back deck, where it's exposed to the elements.
I'm so happy that I can start riding my bike again, especially now that I'm only a 10 minute ride from the beach path!
Bike riding is the best exercise. Plus I really need to shift all those trial-and-error chocolate puddings…
xx Kiki
