A Lazy Sunday
Don't you just love Sundays?
It's the day we're most likely to have nothing planned. It's the day when pottering around the house is the most enjoyable.
Although, we did leave the house this afternoon, briefly, because Mr K couldn't get this $27 packet of muesli out of his mind.
You may need to take a minute to digest the idea of $27 for a 1kg packet of muesli. It took me a bit longer than that.
I mean, there's got to be something super special about a muesli that costs that much, right? Royal jelly-infused triticale? Gold-leafed almonds? Diamond cut oats?
Um… nope.
Here are the ingredients:
- Rolled Oats
- Raw Nut Mix (Almond, Cashew, Walnut, Hazelnut, Brazil)
- Raw Seed Mix (Sunflower, Sesame, Linseed, Pepita/Pumpkin)
- Coconut (shaved)

I'm not going to lie, it looks a darn sight better than a bowl of Special K. And virtually no sugar, which is practically unheard of in cereal-land. And the lady at shop (The Albert Park Fruit Palace) said people buy 3 packets at a time because it's so amazing. $80 for breakfast cereal… as you do.
The only reason I was convinced to buy this was because I plan to steal the recipe if it tastes as good as it looks. I haven't made my own muesli in a long, long time but how hard can it be?

I always like to mix it up with the flowers for the house (no gerberas for months!) and these dahlias caught my eye. How did I not notice these luscious looking flowers before?
I think I always associated dahlias with old people's gardens, but I've decided I really like full-bodied blooms at the moment, and dahlias are just magnificent and plush looking.
It was lovely of the lady to ask me if I like tulips as well, and gave us a bunch for free "because we're going to have to throw them away tonight".

Picked up this block of chocolate for a cake I'm planning to make this week. Did you know that Cadbury is running a promotion at the moment where you can win a free block of Dairy Milk to share with a friend?
It's one of those enter-the-code-inside-the-packet competitions. I got another block for the cake I made last week, and both packets have paid out.
I don't think I could offer any guarantees, but 2 for 2 makes me think that Cadbury's running a buy-one-get-one-free promotion at the moment. Might be worth trying your luck too if Dairy Milk is your thing

Tonight I'm settling in to relax with my new book, The Help by Kathryn Stockett.

Hope you were able to enjoy some lazy time on your Sunday too.

Sounds like a great Sunday.
Let me know if you enjoy that book, I’m contemplating buying it myself!
Jess – I’m really enjoying the book so far. I think I paid $9-ish for it on book depository, so keep that in mind if you decide to buy it – bargain!
How nice of the florist to give you the tulips
Flowers in the house is always cheery.
Let us know if the muesli is worth the price tag – I kinda want to try it and see if it’s that delicious. Doesn’t sound that complicated to make though…
Justine – It was very friendly of her
Especially since it’s not like we’re regular customers. We’ve never been there before. I’m amazed they’re lasting really well too, for something they thought were worth giving away. I’m going to write a review about the muesli, so we’ll see if it lives up to the price tag.
Wow.. $27.. That’s ridiculous!
Sammy – I know. I’m wondering if I could make it for much cheaper myself though… nuts and seeds are pretty expensive.
I’ve heard that muesli is amazing too!
Laura – It sounds impressive from their website. I like that it’s practically sugar-free. Look out for my review
I hope you enjoy The Help – I read it last year in one weekend and absolutely loved it! They’re making a movie of it too.
Cadbury is having a milk chocolate giveaway, you say? Hmmmm, must get to the supermarket ASAP.
Julia – I’m really enjoying The Help. I love books that teach me something new, especially about history. Hope your Cadbury block/s pay out too!
$27 is ridiculous for muesli! Let us know what it tastes like as I’m quite keen to make it too.
Sassandspice – I will definitely let you know. I’ll do a review
