You have to be in it to win it
Don't you love when one of those little cards arrives in the letterbox telling you to come pick up a delivery from the post office?
You wrack your brains trying to work out what it is (if, like me, you're not expecting any deliveries), and the anticipation is very exciting.
Well, today I went down to the depot and received this.
It's a packet of TimTams that never runs out!
Okay, well that's completely untrue… but it's the second box of TimTams I've received because I won a year's supply in one of their competitions.
So it worked out as about a packet a week… 2 boxes of 24 packets, delivered six months apart.
I remember my family used to make fun of me for entering competitions, telling me why bother, I'll never win.
Sure, I don't win often, but over the years I've won some stuff…
I won $1000 of perfume once. I think I gave it all away, save one bottle of 5th Avenue.
I won a $500 voucher from Adrenalin.com.au and used it to get my scuba certification.
And you can't sneeze at a year's worth of Australia's best chocolate biscuits!
I'm sure I've won other stuff, but just can't remember now. Anyway, I just enjoy the possibility of one day winning a nice new car. Or an overseas trip.
Some people buy scratchies. I enter competitions on biscuit packets
At the postal depot, the guy at the counter said, "Oh so you're the TimTam lady! Is it for fundraising?"
"No, I won a year's supply."
"No way! That actually happens?? That's so cool."
I told him I mostly gave them all away last time, and then I opened the box and gave him a packet. He was quite chuffed.
It was quite fun giving them all away last time. I like being the TimTam Fairy.
I think I'll have to sneak them out when Mr K's not looking though.
So, go and enter all those competitions on your toilet roll packets, cat food tins and cartons of milk. You might get lucky and win a year's supply of something too!
xx Kiki

OMG!!! That would have to be THE best competition to win. Just think of all those cups of tea you can suck through
I’m very jealous – I’ve never won anything in my life!
Wow! That. is. awesome. What a competition to win
My dad won one of those when I was in primary school. Best year of my life — I used to take a packet of Tim Tams every day to recess to share with my friends. It took me fifteen years to eat another Tim Tam but my time as school Tim Tam Fairy was fun.
You’ve inspired me to start entering all those competitions all over again!
One of my friends also won this competition! Well I assume you’re not my friend
Kristen – I don’t know a Kristen, so no I don’t think we know each other
A – Wow, your dad must have won heaps more than me if you took one every day! Glad I inspired you to enter comps again… hope you win something soon
Justine – I know, it’s pretty cool… if only they were the double coat ones. They’re the ones I buy!
Cheree – haha… you actually inspired me to do the sucking thing, except I did it with milo and ended up with a super-sweet soggy mess! Definitely tea next time.
And definitely start entering comps!
Haha, I’m sure I don’t know you either. From your blog I’m guessing you live in the eastern states and I’m in the wild west. It’s just so funny to think that people actually win these things.
