Chi Chi Hung Up
It's been a little while since I did a straight nail polish post, so here's a Chi Chi that makes me giddy with happiness.
I've been crazy about purples for a while now, and have collected a fair few, but Chi Chi Hung Up is currently at the top of my purples list for pure glamour value.
I've got to admit, it took me a long time to come round to Chi Chi. I wasn't really keen on spending $13 on a local brand I hadn't heard all that much about, when OPI, China Glaze et al are available for a fraction of the price on ebay, etailers, etc.
So when I picked up this one and High Heeled Housewife on sale at Myer for $5 each, it gave me an opportunity to test out the quality very cheaply.
I fell head over heels in love with High Heeled Housewife for being a true two-coater, which I previously didn't believe truly existed (at least to my personal standards of opacity) and for being such a sexy neutral.
So I had high hopes for Hung Up.
While it did end up needing three coats, I don't start holding a grudge until I reach four, and Hung Up – like HHH – was such a dream to apply and so dazzling in its beauty, I think I may have stared dumbly at my hands for an embarrassingly long time.
Can you blame me?
My camera has given this a blue-er tinge than it has in real life. It's definitely a vibrant violet.
Speaking of violets, I always see a little bucket of teeny violet posies when I go to buy flowers, and am tempted to buy them for their beautiful scent, but there's something so…I don't know, little-old-lady-in-a-cottage about them.
Though, now, thanks to Google images, something very cheerleaders-in-purple-flares about them.
Either way, I'm just not feeling it for the flowers right now.
Unlike the nail polish. Love.
xx Kiki

Ohh I love the colour ! And the name is just as fabulous.
I might have to go pick myself up a bottle.. or two
Inertia – Hope you find it! Looking at those pics again, I’m dying to wear it again.
Stella – I hope they’re still on sale, but I reckon this is definitely worth paying full price.
Nice nailpolish
Would you believe, I opened your blog after reading Vogue Forums, and another after reading 20 Something bloggers, and you BOTH had the same layout! I was confused!
I like the mix of content on your blog
Carly
Carly – Ah, they must use the same free template as me. Thanks, glad you like the mix! I don’t have one passion, like fashion, cooking, reading etc, so it’s all bits of everything I enjoy
