Green is Good
A few months ago, an (ultimately ill-fated) bottle of deep blue nailpolish ignited my new passion for nailpolish colours outside the red, pink and neutral spectrums.
I have to say I'm critical about greens, though, as many edge too far up the ugly (i.e. yellow) end of the spectrum and look like a nasty case of gangrene.
Like Rimmel's Grass Green, which looked so unbelievably vomitous on my fingers, I removed it immediately.
I thought it might look better on my toes.
Hmmm. No.
Can you believe I dotted on those embarrassing daisies to try and soften the look? And then walked around like that for about a week?
I hate twee.

But when I stumbled across a bottle of Scandal Love-Holic, I knew I had found a green that was very, very special.
It's a deeply luscious grass green.
Not the Rimmel kind, but the hasn't-stopped-raining-for-weeks kind of grass green that can probably be found all over Australia at the moment.
It's definitely ankle deep and lush at the park across the road.
However, despite this new love for blues and greens, they do still cause me a few moments of hesitation because I'm afraid of looking ridiculous.
But Love-Holic had me from the first brush stroke.
And I was thrilled to discover a perfect match in a necklace I bought years ago but never wore, and had destined for the garage sale my sister and I are planning.
The necklace is now a keeper.

So, Scandal Love-Holic has shot to the top of my Favourites list.
No-one could be more surprised than me.
It's one of the extremely rare polishes in my collection that I want to wear for more than one day.
I have a ridiculously short nailpolish attention span. After one day, I'm bored and want it gone.
But when Love-Holic started to chip after about 3 days, I actually felt sad.

Green is so, so good.

Yay that you’re back blogging! I’ve never left a comment before now, but I just had to since you may have found the winner in my search for the perfect green nail polish. Only one problem, where does one find Scandal polishes?
Emm – Hi! Are you in Melbourne? I don’t know the name, but it’s a Korean variety store near the corner of Swanston and LaTrobe in the city, on the same block as Melbourne Central. I’m not sure of anywhere else. I hope you find it
i found you kiki! haha i have indeed started making some larger macarons
i must say though, very brave to try such vibrant nail colours – hoping to pick up some new ones myself tmro! x
Helen – Those macarons are so sweet. You’ll have to let me know when you’re selling them. Hope you picked up some pretty colours for your fingertips!
Millie – I think you’re right. Essie Going Incognito looks gorgeous! I will hunt it down. Thankyou!
Emm – Hope you find it. If you can’t, I’m happy to do a CP, if you like
I like all of them except the first one. Maybe you’d prefer darker greens? I know I do unless it’s a dusty green with a touch of blue. I reckon you’d love Essie Going Incognito.
Thanks for the reply Kiki. And no, sadly I’m in Brisbane not Melbourne, but I get down to Melbourne fairly often en route to visit family and friends in Bendigo. I might have to try my luck next time!

Oh my gosh this green polish is amazing! I too have never really gotten into blue and green polish, but your pics may have converted me! I wonder where I can find this brand in Sydney…
Scout – Awww… you’re lovely, hon! That outfit was such an unexpected ‘find’
aelie – I’m totally happy to do a CP for you too, if you can’t find them. Just email me here or pm me on VF.
I’ve got OPI Greenwich Village which is a bit darker than the Rimmel one.
That Scandal green is amazing! Such a great find and I love that outfit!
Helen – Hi Helen, thanks for commenting because now I’ve found your GORGEOUS blog! I love, love your style.
