World’s Worst Manicure – W7 Glock
When I picked up the beautiful Midnight Blue W7 nailpolish recently, I also got a nameless grey that was missing its sticker.
So it was left to me to name it, so I'm calling it Glock because it's a flat metallic gun metal grey.
Then I'm going to unceremoniously drop it in the bin and forget all about it.
At first I was unsure about it, mostly because I think edgier colours like this look better on short nails.
(The dent on my index nail is where I stabbed it while quilting)
But then it grew on me.
I saw a barista looking at my nails and convinced myself he was thinking, “Hey, that girl's nails look awesome, like a Glock pistol. I bet she's a really cool chick to hang with.”
That’s the kind of rubbish I come up with before I’ve had coffee.
Then within 24 hours of application, it did this and our fledgling little romance was scuttled.
Ugh! It hurts my eyes. I can't believe people walk around like this for days, even weeks.
Chipped nailpolish – like sloppy application – makes me feel ill.
Admittedly, I didn't use a top coat, which is unusual, but I was running out the door and couldn't wait.
Even so, this is pretty unforgiveable. I'm not sure a top coat would have been able to prevent this. It's more peeling than chipping.
It's such a shame, because it was an absolute dream to apply, a real pleasure, and was opaque in two coats.

But now I know why the lady at the Terry White chemist said they're not reordering W7 nailpolishes.
I think they must be distributed by the same company that supplies Mode polishes, because she said the W7's came with a standard shipment of Mode, but they're not happy with them, so won't be restocking.
Which is a shame, because Midnight Blue was still going strong after 4 days. Although I did use a top coat.

I picked up the last bottle in the tub (okay, second last… the other one was a neon green so ugly it should never have made it into production) called Burnt Amber (I think they meant Umber), so hopefully it'll be more like Midnight Blue than Glock.
I'll try it soon.
Have you managed to track down W7 polishes? You might see them in a Mode tub like I did, too.

Hi Kiki! You should totally try Ulta3′s Metal, if you haven’t! It looks pretty much identical to your Glock
, but with the Ulta3 durability! Also, is reaaally easy to apply!!!
xx Deb (from Vogue Forum hehe)
Deb – Thanks for that recommendation
I thought metal was lighter, but I might check it out. I love Ulta3!
